Cabo Ogoño

It's no secret that the basques have excellent climbing. Therefore Totti and I went to climb at Cabo Ogoño

Descent to the start of the route

Start of the second pitch

traverse in the third pitch

the last pitch

and the obligatory picture on top

Zarautz VII

Finally the last subsequent entry to the Surfcamp in Zarautz. In the third and last camp finally we had some decent waves aswell

Therefore mid-day-break looked like this: everybody sleeping...

The Lolli

After 4 years with the "wilde 13" and about 160.000 km travelled I feel like surfing another board. Therefore the new one-board-quiver needs to be there so the bag ain't too heavy.  Handy I had to come back to Freiburg with the bus from the university after the surfcamp. So quickly to the workshop to develop the new prototype for extensive travels with the guys from yellowfoot.
Firstoff on the computer:

Quickly building a blank

into the cutter

the other side aswell

and there is the rough shape. Just sanding...

...and inlets out of harder wood to protect the ends of the board

For it to be a real prototype there needs to be a colour-experiment, too. Here the first step:

That's it for today, Soon more.

Zarautz V

Sometimes there was time to escape in the morning and search for waves

Zarautz IV

Here a subsequent entry again.
When there are no waves at the Basques, there's excellent climbing

Whereas you're going to be struggeling at the second piton securely while 10 meters above you a Basque is cruising around whisteling and unsecured

Zarautz III

When there's no waves, the long paddeling to the island starts (about 30mins) where there are still the remnants of the old ship-loading-station of Zarautz. There you can jump down from around 10-12m .

from another angle

after a few jumps the next time I needed a new challenge....

the 20-minute-storm

Generally wheather was excellent, mostly summerly. But then a storm came upon the camp...
